Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision
I am an experienced clinical supervisor of psychological therapists and allied health professions in a variety of modalities ( individual and group). I am a Registered Approved Clinical Supervisor with the BPS (RAPPS), meaning I am deemed to have attended specialist training in clinical supervision and have the appropriate experience.
I provide clinical placements to Counselling Psychology trainees on a rolling basis and I am happy to offer a discounted rate to trainees for any private supervision sessions.
My approach is said to be supportive, encouraging and responsive.
This is what one of my former supervisees thinks:
"I was very fortunate to have received supervision from Eva whilst working in the NHS. She is an excellent supervisor who is able to create a warm, supportive space to work through any difficulties that may arise in supervision without judgement whilst bringing a caring, thoughtful experienced approach when facilitating the presenting work.
Throughout my time as her supervisee she created a supportive context in which I could reflect safely upon my vulnerabilities, doubts and challenges as a therapist. I greatly value her practical wisdom built up over many years as she is a highly experienced therapist as well as a supervisor which greatly benefited our supervision sessions and encouraged me to rethink and expand upon my therapeutic interventions with clients.
During our supervision together my needs from supervision changed and Eva’s approach was flexible in order to accommodate that. She was incredibly supportive of my efforts to further my career within psychology in practical as well as professional ways and I highly recommend her as a supervisor."
"If you are looking for a supervisor that is knowledgeable, kind, compassionate yet most importantly able to challenge you in an effective way, then Eva is the supervisor for you.
As an early career health psychologist, I have greatly struggled with confidence and imposter syndrome however Eva’s supervision style and humanity has been invaluable in helping me navigate these issues, I still carry them but through Eva’s support they are much less heavy and I am much more equipped.
Eva has such an admirable way of asking questions curiously and without being intrusive, which has been pivotal for me to reflect and consider key aspects and phenomenon in my work that I hadn’t even considered!
As psychologists, too often we can forget that we are also people with our own life challenges and Eva has such a brilliant way of modelling the importance of allowing ourselves to also be vulnerable so that we can bring the best of ourselves to our clients. This has been immeasurably important to me in being open in my supervision sessions, helping me look after myself and continue my own development all whilst overcoming personal challenges and still being present at work. She is compassionate and encouraging whilst so knowledgeable about physical health psychology, particularly cancer, bereavement and especially psychodynamic therapy. As a result, the psychodynamic approach is now an aspect that heavily influences my thinking with clients. This has been invaluable to me in the development of my professional identity and something particularly unique for a Health Psychologist.
I have so enjoyed having Eva as my supervisor, there is no one else quite like her! You will be most lucky to have her, not only is she an excellent supervisor but overall just a brilliant person! "
